1. What CST and IST grade what you allocate yourself for this project? Justify your response. In this projct I would give myself an B. Our movie was good but it wasn’t okay because we had troubles with blue screening and it wasn’t reolved. We also had troubles with group members and I should have done better myself.

Completly Fake. There is no way in which there is holes under the ground so forign athletes can fall into and the olympic games(the modern ones put off ancien Greece) have not been going on for 1000 years.

For the Second Video article that is also a fake. Firstly There is no such thing as a nation Donkey Basketball League where donkeys are ridden in order to play basketball. Secondly Sports Illistrated did no such cover article with a donkey on it.

I think That Social justice is portrayed quite well by some media such as ” A Current Affair” and “60 Minutes” but not enough. Alot of the major brands in some way contribute to social Justice issues which are things such as Nike and their advertising but in actual fact cause alot of pain and suffering to people in third world countries.

It seems easy to find articles on some social justice issues because it’s global and big and apart of our world. Our issue seems to be the one were we can not find anything on. Its is harder yet agian to find two articles that contradict each other so we can present on that.

I think that most of the media focuses on a moral framework but every now and again you find one aspect of the media that makes the whole thing like it has the morality of a criminal. There was once a thing about a boy named Corey Delany who through a big party in Melbourne and damaged alot of property. At First the media was quite strict and making him out to be a lowlife but then he became famous and then newspapers started publishing what he was wearing and where to buy them from which is totally immoral.

I have learnt or relearnt what comes out of a submarine, a periscope, also that a camera is accutually a opptical instrument.

The media provides much of the information we use to make decisions about our lives. Whether it is our daily newspapers, television news, radio, music or entertainment, the media influences our personal and social values and ethics. But how reliable are the media reports that shape our views of the world?

Media Watch is Australia’s leading forum for media analysis and comment. Media Watch has built an unrivalled record of exposing media shenanigans and turns the spotlight onto those who literally ‘make the news’: the reporters, editors, sub-editors, producers, camera operators, sound recordists and photographers who claim to deliver the world to our doorsteps, radios, computers and living rooms.

However, the ability to identify, analyse and comment on unethical media broadcasts is difficult and media watch often requires tip offs from the general public. To improve upon this process, Media Watch is launching the “Have your say?” program which will provide individuals with the opportunity to be just like ‘Jonathon Holmes’ in constructing their own Media Watch episodes to be aired on the Media Watch website or other video streaming sites such as youtube.

ABC are excited with this program as it will give the general public the opportunity to discover for themselves how reliable the media reports that shape many of our views of the world?

Furthermore, in adhering to the hype that has been generated by the world youth day the theme of the current episodes will be on ‘social justice’. A list of suitable topics will be provided at a later date. However, often the best Media Watch reports are the ones that are discovered often underneath the fabrication, deception and dishonesty.

Important – All episodes must follow the structure set out in the submission criteria!

Submission Criteria:

1.) Must select a relevant social justice issue presented in contemporary media.
2.)Provide researched examples of how this social justice issue has been presented across a range of different media.
3.) Using the media examples, critique how the media attempt to influence our values and ethics on this social justice issue.
4.) Compare and contrast your own values and attitudes with those demonstrated by the media on the issue.
5.) Provide relevant Church teachings that support your values and attitudes.
6.) A 1 page synopsis of your theme and summary of research is to be provided before production of the episode can start.
7.) Episodes must not exceed 10 minutes.
8.) All episodes must be created and edited using digital hardware and software.
9.) All episodes must be uploaded to the specified website.

Final Presentation

Each episode will be presented to a panel of THREE judges and after this presentation individuals will be required to respond to the following question.

How could they respond practically to the challenges raised by this current social justice issue?
